I’ve had a lot of time to think about it and a lot of people to talk to as well. And all signs point to the fact that I could very well be the most self centered person either they or I have ever had the dubious pleasure of meeting. Be that as it may, I find I have a very decent supply of close inner circle friends to speak of. To me, that’s odd. Either people are just really gung ho about giving more than they get when it comes to me which, I see no good reason for. Or I have them fooled into thinking they’re getting a fair deal which would make them not very sharp which also, I couldn’t say they are. I’ve puzzled over this for a bit and it seems to me the most plausible answer this side of reason is that they’re really good people and they care about me in earnest and have the ability to really give of themselves. These people also have the uncanny knack of finding The Line and laying themselves on it and invariably end up being the ones that get trampled upon. I don’t get it. I have yet to feel that gratifying feeling everyone raves on about when you place others before yourself. Sure it feels nice when people are happy on account of you but the minute it stops being incidental and you actually have to choose between yourself and somebody else, I know where I’ll be standing. It’s shameless and cruel and it’s the truth. I’ll pick me.
